Deniz Sirin is working as a PhD candidate in the BMBF junior research group 'CoSynHealth - Conflicts and synergies between carbon-neutral and healthy city scenarios', which is led by Dr. Peter Hoffmann, since April 2023. In this project, Deniz pursues a PhD aimed at building an agent-based modelling framework for investigating the impact of urban morphology and lifestyle changes on the health of urban dwellers.

Deniz Sirin obtained his B.Sc. in Meteorological Engineering from the Istanbul Technical University (2011) and his M.Sc. in Integrated Climate System Sciences from the University of Hamburg (2022). His Master thesis focused on exploring decision-making heterogeneity and behavioural diversity in agent-based modelling and their effects on the system level. Prior to his Master’s degree studies, Deniz worked on the field of occupational health and safety in logistics as a dangerous goods safety advisor.
